Wow , Im just so disappointed, I really enjoyed On Dublin Street, Ms.Young can be hit or miss for me ,On Dublin Street was a good hit ,that story was a big miss. The characters are very immature, such a cliche read, the beginning was a bit original but the whole "big misunderstanding " between Aidan and Nora was so played out ,unoriginal, so immature and I think Ive read this type of storyline as far back as the "Dynasty " "Knots Landing " days ,I mean seriously it read more like a soap opera than anything else.Just so ridiculous at times, so very As the World Turns like, not anything that I won't forget about by the next day. And the Epilogue was boring , 2 months later ,so uninteresting, nothing exciting to end on , just not feeling this soap opera read.2.5 stars only I was being way to kind with the 3 stars in my opinion. I should have skipped it but I liked the cover so I had hoped, "but like time through a hour glass ......, blah ,blah blah.

Play On eBook Samantha Young Reviews

"It was easy, when you loved people, to find ways to blame yourself when you couldn't protect them from the hurts of the world. That was an impossible task and we only ended up hurting ourselves by believing that it wasn't."

I've been on a Samantha Young binge lately running to all the newest releases. The appeal? Her freaking characters. She has an immense talent in writing truly believable characters that you can't help but feel like are your friends. That cover? Stunning.

Play On is a contemporary romance set in Indiana and Scotland. It's a novel of falling in love, redemption and second chances.

But this book didn't give me that feel. And that was probably the biggest downfall. Especially with Nora. Nora was a very kind-hearted character, but she was one dimensional and I mostly just wanted to shake her. I didn't feel the draw to her that Jim and Aidan did.

"Because people could disappoint you, and sometimes that was okay, but sometimes... it wrecked you so badly it changed you irrevocably."

Part II of the book was my favorite. The situations seemed more real and more relatable. Jim was frustrating. Nora was frustrating. Aidan was swoon-worthy. Sylvie was to die for. But just when the connections started to come, Part III came and it fell flat.

"Just because it takes more than falling in love to find yourself doesn't mean that losing yourself in another person can't be... beautiful."

The premise of the story was decent, and if you're looking for something just a little different within contemporary romance, this is a good pick. Especially since Samantha Young has such good writing.
5 STARS

Oh Samantha Young, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

It's no secret, S. young is one of my favorite authors. Her talent captured me with the emotional captivating story of On Dublin Street and I've been a captive of her talent ever since.

I can't imagine how difficult it must be for an author to write such emotionally complex and charged stories. To tap into oneself to capture the moments and scenes so perfectly on paper but Samantha Young did it with On Dublin Street and again with Play On. I love her work, her love stories but the emotional journeys are my favorites.

Our love is the product of the pieces of our lives coming together to accept ourselves and the one we choose to share it with. Without the life experiences that make these individual pieces we wouldn't know how to love, who to give it to, and fully appreciate it once we get it. Play On walks us through Nora's pieces and what she had to endure to find her true loves; herself and Aiden. We even get glimpses of the pieces in Aidens story and witness the pieces come together so he can learn who he is and how he loves.

Samantha makes the prose and layers of the pages seem so effortless. The side stories coming together as the pieces start to fit. As a reader we don't know why or how the scenes effect the ending until we get there but I always trust this author to know she will most definitely get us there.

Added bonus the descriptions of my favorite city in the world and the use of the Scottish language just added to the connections I'd already made to the story.

This story has angst, steam, and lovable characters. Her portrayal of each are very true to life. I love Aiden, I love Nora, and I adored the supporting characters. I'm not one to like child characters in books, don't shoot me, but I adored Sylvie.

I love emotionally charged books and finding good ones are few and far between. Play On is well worth the time, bump worthy, and unputdownable.
